VPLL Season Suspension until 6/11

Hello VPLL Families,

We hope you are staying healthy and safe during this unprecedented time.  This is not the season we imagined, to say the least.  At this point our season has been suspended through June 11,  the remainder of the OUSD school year.  We have not given up on having some sort of season yet.  We will be updating you over these next few weeks as more information is available from Little League International, District 30, and OUSD.  All OUSD schools and property remain closed through the remainder of the school year.  Social distancing is still the new norm at this point so please, no practices.  Fields remain Closed. We cannot do anything until the quarantine is over and OUSD reopens the facilities which includes our fields at Cerro Villa Middle School.

We remain hopeful that we can get some sort of season scheduled for June, but that obviously depends on several factors.  Thank you for your patience. We understand that you have many questions, just as we ourselves do. The VPLL Board will continue to meet and discuss the impact of this suspension and work to solve as much of this uncertainty as possible. We are working with District 30 officials and Little League International for guidance and advice regarding such topics as resuming league play, as well as the financial implications associated with this suspension of Little League activities as we continue through this unprecedented time.  We are all in this together and the main goal right now is to keep your families healthy so we can see all those smiling faces back at the fields and having fun soon.  Please reach out with any questions.  Please remember to visit our website for any updates  Below is also a link to the recent statement from Little League International. .

We will continue to follow the federal, state, and local city guidelines provided, with the hope of getting us back on the playing field as soon as possible. In the meantime, try to stay active and continue playing catch with the kids.

And remember,

“The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good and that could be again. Oh...people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.” – James Earl Jones (Field of Dreams)
